Bringing millions of these giant trees to our region might sound like a Herculean task.
But with the right people and the right technology, it’s easier than you might think to do something today that will impact the world forever.

The redwood forests which once covered North America millions of years ago are rising again in the Pacific Northwest.
Redwoods and sequoias are growing by the millions in the Pacific Northwest and are ventilating the planet as they sequester carbon two to three times faster and longer than other trees. These redwoods and sequoias are making forests stronger as they add to the diversity of Northwest forests.
Government leaders in Olympia and Salem lead this effort in support of their commitments to fight climate change.
Individuals and foundations are stepping up and supplying the funds necessary to rapidly accelerate this redwood/sequoia re-awakening in the Northwest.
Natural Resource Departments and private nurseries are raising millions of redwood and sequoia seedlings annually. Northwest landowners, both private and government, are obtaining all the redwoods and sequoias they can possibly plant.
School children and young adults are a volunteer army planting redwoods and sequoias across the Pacific Northwest because they know their future and the future of the planet is at stake.
Communities of action come together who are committed to reforesting the world with millions of redwoods and sequoias, thereby setting an example that can inspire and be replicated by other communities.
We and the planet are all breathing easier.
Build and support a “community of action” that includes people across the Pacific Northwest who want to help us produce these trees, find and secure the right places for planting, dig the holes and plant them, or use their energy and ideas to pursue the mission in other ways.
How It Works
The Archangel Ancient Tree Archive (AATA), a Michigan nonprofit, has used cloning methods to replicate the genetics of the oldest, largest trees in existence—coast redwoods and giant sequoias. The genetics of about 50 mother trees have been archived. PropagationNation has partnered with AATA to plant clones of these giants in the Northwest. You can even clone trees yourself!
Bringing a million coast redwoods and giant sequoias to the Northwest will require a supply and delivery supply chain of propagation facilities and nurseries. Developing this chain will allow PropagationNation to produce seedlings efficiently and cost-effectively.
Once the supply and delivery chain for propagating redwood and sequoia seedlings is in place, the next step is planting them—partnering with private and public landowners, the individuals willing to get their hands dirty, and the experts who guide the process. You can use your own land to plant redwoods or sequoias, or help us find land where they can be planted.
